1.Explain the steps you went through during the preparation stage of your own blog (i.e., how you set up the blog, how you chose the layout and the group name, how you collaborated within the group, how you decided on the job division, your selection criteria for the relevant materials that you put in your blog, the sources of the blog materials, any difficulties (i.e., technical difficulties, etc) that you experienced while preparing your blog, the length of blog preparation)
2.Reflect on the blog preparation experience as a group ( mention your feelings about the group work experience, the effectiveness of the group work, how effective you think the blog preparation experience is for you, the benefits that you think you have made by preparing the blog, the things that you have learned through the blog preparation experience, the aspects that you like about your own blog, the aspects that you would like to change about your blog) .
3.Choose the interesting comments that you have obtained in relation to the the entries in your blog (including the comments on the video extract and the discussion questions) and explain why you find them interesting.

first we try to prepare our blog in blogspot butthen we decided that wordpress is more qualified so we decide to prepare our blog in wordpress because there were a lot of templates, and it was easier to upload pictures and videos to it, in short it was easier to control it. firstly we choosed our template, we read a lot of articles on our topic,we watched some videos and we choosed some pictures. actually it took a long time, more than tree days, to decide which pictures. videos, and articles to put in our blog. designing our blog was nearly most difficult stage in preparing our blog ı think. because we had to redesigne it for a lot of times. and it was also hard for us to decide which source to use because every source isn't reliable as you know. after we choose some sources we took some meterials for our blog.
ReplyDeleteactually there are some difficulties and some advantages of group work. finding a suitable time for every group member and deciding where to come together is one of the most difficulty of group work. deciding which meterial to use is also difficult because sometimes one member say something and anothet say something else and it is difficult to come to a point. but a faif work division is a good solution ı think.
this blog preparation work gain us a lot of thing ı thing at least we learn how to prepare a blog. and because we read a lot of articles and watch a lot of videos on communicative competende and communicative language teaching now we know this subject more deaply. but of course there are still a lot of thing to learn.

ReplyDeleteOur blog is about Multiple Intellegences and NLP.We added two articles about MI and two articles about NLP in our blog. Our visitors can have some deeply information about Multiple Intellegences and NLP. Also, We added a video bar and there are so many related videos and visitors does not have to watch only one video. They can choose any video from video bar. We tried to tell MI and NLP by adding related pictures. There are some discussion questions in our blog so that people can look at the subject from different approaches. They can make discussions and understand the subject better by answering these questions. We added a questionnaire so that they can test themselves. They can learn which type of the intelligence they have. This provides people to know themselves better and help about their studying strategies. There are some explanations for each type of intelligences so it 's not difficult for visitors to find their type of intelligence.
Also They can have information about other types and NLP. And we added a poll about MI and if visitors want, they can vote and learn which type is the strongest among the people. We tried to prepare a beneficial blog for our followers.It was really funny and informative. We had really good time while preparing our blog. It was a nice experience for us and helped us about understanding our topic.Now, we learnt how to prepare a blog. We hope it's a useful blog for everybody.Thanks.
Our blog is about to learning styles and strategies. Before that I did not know anything about preparing a blog. Luckily, my group friend Sema , know about preparing blog. We started to prepare our blog with choosing our template. After that, we read many articles and chose some of them. We chose some pictures which is appropriate for our topic. Some friends found video. The most enjoyable part was blog presentation video.I think this blog was useful to learn something about learning styles and strategies. It is an important topic. If you learn your learning style and how you can learn more effectively, it will be useful for your learning. For example if you a visual person, you can learn more easily by seeing things. I think it is a useful blog for you. I learn more things about learning styles and strategies amnd also I learn something about blog preparation.
ReplyDelete1) Our blog’s name is “Personal Factors “and our topic is humanistic approach and personal factors. Firstly, we opened an account on blogger, and then we selected a layout. However, we didn’t like the themes there, so we downloaded another theme for our blog page. After we arranged our layout and gadgets, we started to inquire information. We thought to divide the subjects among our group and separated the topic into four parts and each of us started to search her topic on the web. Therefore; it became easier for us to gather detailed information.
ReplyDeleteEverybody found some pictures, videos and articles. We read them all and selected the most relevant ones. In the end, we had some pictures, some videos and some articles which were revised and paraphrased.
Firstly, we posted our articles and then we put some pictures and wrote comments on them. After we finished this part, we added some videos. All these took two days. In the last day, we retouched the blog and edited our articles and everything else.
After we did the last edit, we looked at our blog like somebody else and we thought that it’s done! (:
2) We worked as a group throughout the blog preparation process. It was a collaborative work, so it wasn’t so difficult. First, we thought that we couldn’t prepare a beautiful blog, but we managed to do it thanks to group work. This blog preparation process was enjoyable for us because we enjoyed while preparing our blog. It was the first time that we created a blog and it was exciting. We could see our product in the end. Group work was also useful because we could realize each other’s mistakes and everybody could get feedbacks immediately. If we worked as individuals, we would have more mistakes and we wouldn’t have an opportunity to hear some feedbacks. In addition, it would last much longer.
During the blog preparation process, we learned how to add some gadgets to our blog and we also learned to upload videos, pictures and articles.
All in all, we enjoyed during this process as a group and we are content with our blog. We think, it looks nice in terms of the theme and layouts. We have also some fun part in our blog (fish feeding). We are also satisfied with the information that our blog contains. It is informative and our friends can read with pleasure. We didn’t want to be boring, so we paraphrased long articles and tried to put some articles which are both enjoyable and useful.
3) In personal types ‘gadget, the question that related to choosing people’s own personal types is the most interesting and enjoyable one. Our friends can find their own types and recognize their personality features. Besides, the video which contains two students’ different situations can be interesting one. Our friends will try to decide what the students’ problems are and also decide what the teacher can do for them. This can be useful for our friends as they are future prospective teachers.

ReplyDeleteBefore we started our blog, we decided to divide our workload. All of us had duties about the blog. So we simlified and decreased our duty. We first started to work individually, then we met and dissussed about what we had found and made brainstorming what we could do in our blogs, how we would arrange.
ReplyDeleteWe wanted to create enjoyble and entertaining blog. While people look through our blog we want them learn something by enjoying. Because if they get bored, our blog can't achieve its aims.
Of couse we had some difficulites in finding suitable materials such as articles and nice pictures. But this process was also nice. We could learn different things while we were searching.
Preparing the blog provided us to be more experinced about our topic. Because before doing the blog, you should be well equipped with the information so that you can convey them to the learners properly.
Group work is really important and beneficial part of a work.Because there are 4 brains and work on the same thing together. everybody has different and creative point of views.We could combine all of the nice ideas together. We helped each others.Each people did what s/he was supposed to do. So group working also enables us to be more careful and willing. We tried to be better.
I found all of the pictures interesting. Because when people look over a site or blog, first thing that attaches the attention is pictures. If we enjoy looking them ,we continue to look over and read the blog. so pictures are very effective in learning in my opinion.
At the first step after we selected our blog topic "Learning Styles and Strategies" we began to prepare our blog's layout and thanks to our group member Sema Yıldız we did not have difficulties while arranging our layout but we don't like Blogger's templates so we downloaded other templates for our blog and picked one of them as a group. After layout preparation we distributed our blog topic's subtopics to our group members and started to search necessary things for our blog as individually and then with a collaborative work we arranged our findings and upload them to the blog. we made soma explanations under some of our pictures which we upload to our blog. Finally we prepared our blog's presentation video which introduces our blog. It was an enjoyable process for us because preparing a blog was a colorful and enjoyable. However the biggest difficulty for us was to gather as a group. Because each member was separate places so it was hard to meet at the same place. Therefore we did our blog mostly over Internet. Despite this difficulty we are satisfied to prepare a blog. I think we achieved a big thing.
ReplyDeletePreparing a blog was difficult than I thought because I don’t have that much knowledge on that kind of technological things. During the preparation part we start to prepare our blog using e-blogger but then we decided to use word press so that we four could work on it at the same time. Firstly we all made research on articles, videos and pictures we would use, then we started to insert them to our blog. It was the first time we made such a project that it was kind of exploration that we generally used the trial and error method. Working in a group teaches us to share knowledge and ideas but also sometimes the ideas crash or somehow you need to obey others’ ideas and you both learn from your peers and you also learn to tolerate different point of views. We have difficulty to find a questionnaire and to create a poll, but in the end we managed to insert them to our blog, too. I like our topic which is socio cultural factors so while preparing this blog I enjoyed searching on this topic and learning new things. I also met many interesting researches made on this topic. I think; our blog will be helpful for our friends to understand their students’ needs and expectations from them when they become a teacher.
ReplyDeleteour blog topic is personality factors in second language acquisition. while preparing the blog, firstly, we did an extensive research on our subject, so every member of our group could have lots of information about the topic. then, we tried to find essays, important paragraphs, cartoons and videos and we found them from appropriate and reliable sources. after doing our research, we began to prepare our blog. firstly, we began with the layout of the blog. we cannot decide on the color of the blog but we chose the color pink. we as a group designed the size of the pictures according to the size of the page but we had some difficulties while doing that because writings on the page was sliding. also we had to add some pages to one page because blog didn't allow more than ten pages published. however, working as a group facilitated our working. because collaboration and sharing of the ideas contributed to our blog preparation very much. we gained a lot of things from the blog. we learned how to prepare a blog how to convey information to the readers appealing them visually and audially. also it is a good way for teaching subjects in that way because every student contributes to the blogs and we make comments to the other blogs. the subjects are easier to remind by tht way I think.

The visiters won't be lost in the blog and will find the information that they are looking for about personality factors in second language acqusition. The blog is not so rich in terms of technical properities. However we tried to enrich it with visual and audial materials.
ReplyDeleteFor the process; befaore preparing the blog we searched a lot for the related materials. After finishing the research period we picked up the most suitable ones. After that we decided on the layout and other visual details. After that we asked some of our friends' ideas about the blog. Thanks to the reactions we changed some features of our blog and we ended our work. I am fully pleased with our progress
1) Our blog's name is "socio cultural factors". We explained cılture shock and the effects of culture in language learning. At first we opened an account on blogger and then we decided our layout. After designing the blog we shared the things we would do because it would be simplier. One of us searched for the pictures and videos and the others searched for the articles.I generally dealt with finding essays because I am not so good at computer using therefore my friends did more than I did while designing stage.
ReplyDelete2)I like our blog ı think it is good. while preparing it I realized that while reading somebody else's work you do not understand how hard it is and how much time it takes. It really takes time preparing such things but as we were orginized it was simplier than I thought before we started preparing.
3) We asked a question about the stages of culture shock. This question is a kind of survey and necessitates to know the stages.But, it is a simple question because we explained the stages in our article, additionally the answer is related to participants' idea and ıf they want, participants can learn the results of the survey and they can learn how many people think like them. This is a kind of enjoyable.
1. Preparing a special blog on a subject was a nice experience for me. Also this wasn't the first one as we prepared a blog in our ıs 100 course. Of course that was not as detailed as we did in our Fle 200 course. So I may say that this is the first appropriate blog that I have ever prepared. I was lucky as this was not an individual activity. I learned many things about preparing a blog from my group members.Thus, this was an instructive activity for me. Our blog's title was "Learning Styles and Strategies". We began our blog preparation by choosing a suitable and pictural template. we tried some of the templates that we found and we chose the one which all of us found nice and appropriate. After choosing the template we searched informations, pictures, videos, and some informative articles related to our topic. with the contributions of all the group members we added our videos, pictures and articles. After the instructive part the most enjoyable step came: we added some quotes, clock, and music and such things at the left part of the blog.
ReplyDelete2. As I mentioned above preparing a blog within a group helped me very much as I hadn't prepared such a detaled blog before. I learned many things that I hadn't know before from my group members. Also, as we have all contributed to the blog the preparation period was easier and shorter than I had expected.In addition to making it easier, the group work made the process funny for us. We all enjoyed from our comments and the things that we found for our blog. We gave feedbacks to each others findings: "we liked or not" didn't make any problem through our group members. We omit the things that the all group didn't want to add and we chose the things that all of us approved. In short this experience was a creative, funny, and instructive experience for me.
3. Choosing gadgets like music, quotes, and clock was the most enjoyable and intersting part of the preparation of the blog. I thinK our music gadget is the most interesting one:))

1) the very first step in our blog preparation was to decide the following steps. So, at the very beginning we did a workshare for specific tasks. While one of us were dealing with thecnical tasks, one was dealing with finding materials, and so. Then, we all cehecked each other's working and started to connect what we did to each other. We uploaded the articles, pictures videos to our beforehand prepared blog.We thought that a simple and clear blog structure would be best, so designed our blog elaborately. We checked the articles whether they are providing the necessary information. We also checked articles with simple topic whether they are saying the same thing. So we tried to choose different articles which are approaching the topic with different perspectives.
Since this is not the first the time we prepared a blog( we also did in IS100), we didnt have many difficulties.But sometimes we had to arrange the structure of the texts manually since sometimes the blog didnt allow to use options.
The preparation process was not tiring, and in fact it was enoying, and it didnt take too muh time.
2) the process of preparing a blog is of course more than that. each of us found something enjoyable, something to learn. Some of us were really enjoying doing thecnical things, some of us were enoying to learn more by searching for materials. What is more important is to do, to create something. As a group we did something and now we write the link and we see it. just like a worker who is happy with what he produced, we were and we are happy with ouyr blog. It was like preparing a meal together. The taste of the meal which are prepared by several hands is better than others. to do something together was the best experience to live. Much more than this, we find our blog very well prepared, it is very clear and easy to have a look over the things. Articles, since they are well chosen, are not so long and very effective in conveying the information. We also added some funny things like fish game. And we took videos of us about that prapation and we uploaded them also in our blog.
3) Since our topic are NLP and Multiple Intelligences which are "famous" topics, our questions and pools as to what kind of multiple intelligence people have, these will probably seem enoyable to the readers. Because each of us wonders what kind of intelligence we have, in what topics we can be successfull or so.
We hope that our blog will be a benefical and enoyable one for everyone.

We went through some steps during the preparation stage of our blog.
1) Preparing this blog lasted 5 days. first 3 days, we gathered and discussed how to do what to do in our blog. Then, we realized that with this way, preparation process would took longer and would be time-consuming. So, we decided to share the topics and everybody would search her own topic and share with us and then we put the search on the blog. everybody did her own research and prepared topic. While we are searching, we tried to find academic sources and reliable materials. Moreover, we tried to choose most relevant, clear and appropriate pictures and videos. After preparing all these stuff, we started to create our blog on e-blogger. At first, it was difficult; because none of us had no idea about preparing a blog. H owever, after we solved this technical problem, it was easy to upload materials to blog. Nevertheless, choosing our layout, deciding color of it was a part of these technical problems. We decided layout, color and name of blog impromptly. We just thought that name should be related to our topic and lesson. So we called it "personalityfactorsfle200". It was a decision of all of us.
2) I think the best part of this preparation of blog task was working in groups. Because in group working, you can pop up with more creative, beneficial and enjoyable ideas. Moreover, if you work alone for this blog, it could be difficult, boring and time consuming. But working with your friends in a fun way eliminates all these problems. So, this group activity was beneficial for us not only as a lesson part but also with this blog, we learnt how to create a blog as a technological skill and we learnt how to discuss, decide and respect each other's values.
Moreover, creating a blog and conveying information to people are big responsibilities. So, you are trying to do your best and giving the right information. While trying to do these, you already acquire the topic and really learn the topic. Maybe, in an exam preparation, you could memorize and then forhet them. But with this way, knowledge is more permanent and beneficial.
